13th Annual Sight Night
<p class="font_8">The World Cataract Foundation Board of Directors were delighted to host the 13th Annual Sight Night at Theatre Memphis on August 16, 2017. Chef Erik Waldkirch and Maximillian's Catering kicked off the evening by serving delectable hors d'oeuvres, including sugar bacon wrapped gorgonzola stuffed mssion figs - wow! Beverages were provided by FirstBank.</p>

<p class="font_8">Emily Young, PhD, a Physics Professor and astronomy teacher at Rhodes college,began the program by sharing some information about the upcoming eclipse and demonstrated the proper way to wear the eclipse glasses. Next, Drs. James and John Freeman presented Dr. James Christian Fleming, MD, FACS with the Freeman Vision Award. Walker L. Wellford, III, presented a $10,000 grant from the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation.</p>

<p class="font_8">The entertainmenf for the evening was the outstounding Theatre Memphis production of <span style="font-style:italic;">Shrek, The Musical! </span>Through music, comedy, pageantry and awesome sound effects, the talented cast brought to life the lively story of an ogre, a donkey and beautiful Princess Fiona. Guests were all smiles after the performance!</p>

<p class="font_8">The World Cataract Foundation annual fundraiser was a success thanks to the many guests, donors and sponsors. Thank you to American Paper Optics for donating 250 eclipse glasses.
