Dr. Carl Emmaed Dumas
<p class="font_8">Dr. Carl Emmaed Dumas, a third year ophthalmology resident from the Hôspital de I’Université d’Etat d’Haiti of Port au Prince, Haiti participated in the World Cataract Foundation Medical Personnel Exchange Program in Memphis, Tennessee from May to July 2015. Dr. Dumas’ schedule included observations in surgery and clinic management at Memphis Eye and Cataract Associates and Hamilton Eye Institute with specialists in cataract, cornea, retina, glaucoma, refractive and oculoplastic. One of the highlights of the program is the interactive HEI skills transfer center with Dr. Ivan Marais.</p>
<p class="font_8">Dr. Dumas is dedicated to the cause of blindness prevention and committed to helping patients who suffer from major blinding diseases such as glaucoma. He has already participated in outreach programs and in the future would like to extend glaucoma treatment services into the rural areas of Haiti, where there is great need for ophthalmology care.</p>
